Overview

Seth Skiles, the founder and managing attorney at IO Law, advises corporate clients from venture-backed startups to global brands on commercial, technology, regulatory and litigation matters in a business-oriented and cost-efficient manner.

A source quoted in Modern Counsel noted Seth “has a gift for strategic vision guided by a pragmatic business judgment.”

A litigator turned corporate generalist, Seth focuses his practice on helping clients with complex commercial transactions, regulatory strategy, innovation and product development, digital product counseling, data privacy and security, and dispute resolution and crisis management.

Seth leverages his years of corporate experience as a senior in-house counsel at national and multinational companies.  Prior to founding IO Law, Seth served as Deputy General Counsel at Heineken USA where he managed a legal team overseeing all legal needs for Heineken’s multibillion dollar US business and served as primary counsel for innovation and product development, strategic business initiatives and commercial transactions, litigation matters, supply chain and operations, labor and employment, and legal operations.  Seth has also held general counsel-level roles at Compass, where he managed the legal function for all litigation matters, and at Blue Apron, where he led the commercial contract function for the company’s supply chain and operations teams, and oversaw all litigations and investigations.

Seth began his legal career as a litigator at some of the best large law firms in the country, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, and Kaye Scholer, now Arnold & Porter, where he counseled prominent companies including Google, Samsung, Marvell, GoPro, Hershey, Pfizer, and Abbott Labs on technology and IP-based legal issues including contract disputes, joint ventures, product development, and patent, trademark and trade secret litigation.

At IO Law, Seth offers his experience and talent without the overhead and expense of a large law firm.
